If you have a mortgage, chances are it's your biggest monthly expenditure. However, sometimes it may seem that mortgage providers don't always give the best deals to their existing borrowers because they risk losing income.

Furthermore, given the complexity of some mortgage products, it can seem very daunting to set about trying to re-arrange your mortgage without the aid of professional help.

On your side

We don't think this is how it should be. We believe in fair-play and competition. Having previously worked for a number of years in the financial services and financial advice business for large corporations like Abbey, HSBC and Royal Bank of Scotland, we wanted to create a proactive service that works on your behalf to advise on mortgages and, where appropriate, manages the process of switching the mortgage to save you money.

So we started Mortgage Monitor to shake things up a bit. We built a computer programme that enables us to compare your specific mortgage against all mortgages available at any time. This runs every day and means we always aim to identify if there’s a better deal on offer that may save you money.

Completely impartial

The company is owned by the management team and some private investors, so we are completely impartial – with no ties to any of the banks etc from whom we source mortgages for you.

We’ve grown steadily by word-of-mouth to the point where we now feel it’s time to expand and make the service more widely available.

We do not charge a fee for our advice as we are normally paid a commission by the lender. If you prefer, you can opt to pay us a fee and we will pay you any commission which we are paid by the lender. If you choose this option, the fee will be 0.5% of the loan amount (cash example £500 on a loan amount of £100,000) payable on completion of the mortgage. We will then refund any commission that we receive from the lender to you.
